I adore having fresh flowers in my home and will admit I probably buy far more than I should. Flowers add interest, colour and of course a beautiful smell into the simplest of rooms. They can tie a colour scheme together and are also perfect for bringing the outdoor season inside.
All too often though do I see beautiful flowers that have clearly been dumped into the nearest vase at hand and just don't look that appealing. Obsiously, a vase is a perfect place to start when arranging flowers but depending on the size or style of them, it isn't always the best option and does get a little predictable.
Why not mix it up a little?
Flowers always look fabulous in a jug and lend a casual air when plonked on the kitchen table. Relaxed, rustic and full of country charm....

Bud flowers and shorter stems can often get lost in a larger vase. Why not snip them off and pop them in a small jug? Perfect for brightening up dull corners.
Shorter stems also look cute in milk bottles...
Or in jars...
Small tea light holders look beautiful lined up along a table, mantle piece or interspersed with candles
And why not try blousy blooms in a watering can?
The options really are endless, so why not get creative and think outside the vase!
